Vet Triage is a free tool that helps dog and cat owners understand how quickly they should seek veterinary care. This page explains what information is collected when you use it and what choices you have.
The answers you give during the questionnaire (species, age, symptoms) are used only on your device to calculate the result right then. If you haven't signed in, they are never sent to any server or saved once you close or restart the app.
If you use the "Use my current location" button in the find-a-vet section, your browser will ask for permission. That location is used only to build the search link that opens in Google Maps — we never receive or store it. Typing your city or neighborhood by hand works just as well if you'd rather not share your location.
Signing in is optional; the tool works the same without an account. If you choose to create an account (with email and password, or with Google), we use Firebase (a Google service) to save your triage history and sync it across your devices. Only you can see your own saved data — our access rules prevent even us from reading it at the database level. You can ask us to export or delete that data at any time (see "Contact" below).
This app may show ads (Google AdSense) to stay free. The first time you open it we ask whether you accept personalized ads or prefer basic, non-personalized ads only; you can change your choice later from "Ad preferences" in the app. If you choose non-personalized ads, we tell the ad network not to use your activity to personalize them.
We don't sell your information. We don't use your triage answers for anything other than calculating your result. We don't share your account data with anyone other than the providers that make the app work (Firebase, for people who sign in; Google AdSense, for ads).
You can use the app without an account and without sharing your location. If you have an account, you can close it, delete your history, or ask us to remove all your data by writing to [email protected].
